How to Overcome Disconnected Data

Moving data from point A to point B can feel like a daunting task. When data is transmitted from one point to another, there are a lot of things to consider. What data is needed? Where is the data coming from? Where is it going? Are there any formatting requirements or special field definitions? What is the delivery schedule? There are 3 important steps to approaching all these questions.

Like everything else we do, it starts with listening. We take the time needed to truly understand the full scope of the project. Once we have a good understanding of the need and the goals, we begin the phase of analysis. This may consist of researching the data requirements, table structures and locations of the data needed. Once the analysis is complete, we can move into the coding phase. Coding complexity can vary from project to project and will be impacted by the types of data pulls, formatting and any logic surrounding calculations. Data transmission can occur a few different ways, all of which require testing and validation.

This is a big struggle we see when we talk to customers. The data is disconnected, and they don’t have the skill or resources to connect it. We take on the heavy lifting handle the analysis, coding and movement of the data. If this is a struggle you face in your pharmacy, schedule a meeting with us today!
